Cowboy Action Shooters

6-18-09 The shooters were out shooting in between rain drops. Have a look at some of the pictures
HERE

Attached pics show progress being made on the board/sidewalk for the old west town. This will run the full length where we will have our buildings and facades. Rumor has it some interested folks are hesitant to buy the necessary firearms needed to compete in cowboy shooting. Any one of us will be willing to loan guns and ammo to try out with us when we shoot so just show up and see if you like it. Those working on this project on 2-7 were Otto Sheffelmaer who also pushed the snow off with his truck, Paul Wilde, Bruce Luhrsen, Terry D'Hooge, Harry McDonald and Gary Kruger

Also, to shoot different disciplines at the complex does not require joining any group if you are already a paid member of CMTSC. We may ask for donations in the future to buy targets, etc.

Also attached are pics of the sound-proofing blankets we have installed in the rifle and pistol sheds. They have proven to help lower noise levels. These are very expensive to buy but we had a good crew to hang them. Sound-proofing as much as possible is part of our good-neighbor policy. GK

We are making progress slowly at our cowboy shooting area. We have purchased lumber and have partially dug in RR ties for a foundation for the first building. This is pick and shovel work so if you need excercise contact me.
As soon as we start shooting again we will set aside one Tursday evening each month strictly for youth orientation. We will provide guns and gear and have all our crew on hand for instruction. This wil be live fire training so participants will have to have a Hunters Safety certificate.

We have been working lately on the cowboy action area as you may have noticed. The road, the culvert and the parking lot are in. The 2 rows of ties will be our sidewalk as soon as we cover them with planks. The long, dirt berm is to give us some protection from the rifle area in case we get a stray round from there. We are moving the rubber pads to use for bullet-proof dividers between our stages. These will be stacked 6' high and 72' long. We have purchased out of our own pockets some of the lumber we need for the buildings. We would like to have more shooters so call
Gary at 538-3476 or Bruce at 538-2361.
By the way, in answer to many inquiries this is not our new indoor range.
